Workshops and courses

ErgoS offers you presentations, workshops, and courses on usable software.

Awareness within your design team

A smooth presentation is an effective means to focus your design, sales, or project team on a consistent software design. A design with such charisma that your client notices the added value: A task-oriented interaction design without bells and whistles, which urges the users 'spontaneously' to act purposeful.

Workshops and courses on software and hardware are presented by
ErgonomieOpleidingen.nl (Dutch)

Courses and workshops of Ergonomie Opleidingen are given in Dutch. Some workshops are:

Interaction design
Information presentation, 1 day.
Dialogue and controls, 1 day.
This course is aimed at retraining developers.

Scoring in software
This method is aimed at recognising and improving bottlenecks in the usability of administrative software. This workshop presents all aspects of usability in an accessible and practical fashion. Therefore, this workshop is suitable for developers, salespersons, health and safety professionals, and other stakeholders who are suspicious with the term 'interaction design'.

Optimal design of graphical displays
This one day workshop is part of the series: Monitoring and operating processes in Control Centres.
During this one day, your will learn how to present your information graphically in an effective manner.

Computer workstations and offices
This workshop is aimed at 'hardware'. What kind of monitors do I need for specific tasks and how do I address them properly in a workplace?

Customised workshops and in-company

As of ca. 5 students it might be interesting to opt for an in-company course. This can also be given in English. The costs are relatively low because no external accommodation is needed.

With customisation, anything is possible. However, we already have a number of modules that can quickly and efficiently be adapted to the training demand.

Practice broadens the view

During the preparation of a workshop, we can insert exercises based on your own practice. This allows for new interaction concepts. Possibles hooks and eyes are directly addressed in the training session. It is always a revelation how much one can learn from different points of view that are naturally present among the designers.

Available modules include:

  • VideoWall information design.
Design of overview information and large screen systems in reporting centres, control rooms, traffic control, security loges, transaction rooms, etc.
  • Hierarchical task analysis.
  • User participation.
  • Prototyping with spreadsheets (OpenOffice-Calc and Excel) and Paint-dot-net.
  • Expert and user evaluation of Human-Machine Interaction.
  • Alarm philosophy and control in process control.
